Family Tree Wirral’s first ever Family Fun Afternoon on Sunday 2 July proved to be a popular event with over 70 people of all ages attending the event at the wonderful Mere Brook House hotel in Wirral.

A sunny afternoon, a delicious barbecue, a wandering magician and a display of wild birds of prey proved to be a winning combination. “It was a great opportunity to meet other carers in a relaxed and enjoyable setting!” one carer told us afterwards.

Family Tree Wirral’s chairman Susan Walshe said the afternoon had been designed as a relaxing chance for families to get together and had proven very popular with our carers.  “If we can obtain funding next year, we’d love to run it again,” she said.

Our thanks are due to the Big Lottery Fund for their contribution towards the event this year.
