The Big Lottery’s Awards for All fund has awarded Family Tree Wirral £9,850 to fund a programme of activity for carers during 2016-17.
Carers’ Services Manager Paul Etherington said Family Tree Wirral was delighted with the award, which would be used to arrange day trips, visits to the theatre and other social activities for carers and other family members where someone is experiencing mental ill-health.
“Over the years, we’ve been supported by a lot of trusts and foundations to fund this activity, but never on such a scale,” he said.
The funding has already been put to good use with trips to Jodrell Bank, the Menai Bridge Seafood Festival and to the undergound docks and Williamson tunnels in Liverpool. More events are planned for the year ahead and will be promoted through this website and via our newsletter, Family Tree News.
